HISTORY OF HUDDLES

History of Huddles

Fellowship has always been part of who we are. It's in our name! From the start, Huddles were essential to our vision and mission.

The first FCA Camp in 1956 held in Estes Park, Colorado incorporated small group gatherings of campers. What came to be known as "Huddles" were a cornerstone of the camp experience where Huddle Leaders intentionally facilitated discussions and led Bible studies through the camp curriculum. As camp ministry grew over the next decade, so did excitement around Huddles. Campers enjoyed their Huddle experience at camp so much that they started Huddles on their school campuses when classes resumed each fall after summer camp.

In 1966, Huddles were officially established as an FCA program, marking the beginning of a rich tradition where coaches and athletes deepened their relationship with Jesus and helped others do the same. This powerful model of community has expanded, and today, FCA Huddles take place daily around the world in a variety of sport environments and settings serving competitors at every level. Coaches and athletes continue to gather, growing as disciples who are empowered to make disciples.
